Work-from-home jobs…not legit

Did anyone see the ABC 20/20 special tonight about working from home? This was a brief but important overview of the scams that abound on the internet. I find it alarming that people still think you can make thousands of dollars a week stuffing envelopes, but times are desperate and people are always looking to make easy money. And many people must believe there is a work-from-home job out there that is legitimate given the number of scams that continue to pull in cash. A watchdog agency cited in 20/20 stated that for every fifty-five work at home jobs fifty-four are scams.

This goes back to my post about Google Adwords and why I won’t use it on my site. Because I am a telecommuting mom who works from a home office, Google Adwords inserts work-at-home ads touting “make a thousand dollars your first week.” To find legitimate jobs that allow you to work from home you need to research, research, research. I found my work through a past employer, and one reference led to an additional job. Simply stated, you won’t find a legitimate telecommuting or work-at-home job by simply sending a check to an address. A work-at-home job must be found just like any other job, with networking, resumes, interviews and face time.

  1. Telemarketing is another job that can easily be done from home. Most often this involves making cold calls to sales leads and either selling merchandise or services directly, or sometimes you would be simply setting appointments for sales people to close the sale. I think this is the best work from home job.

  2. I clicked on your link and this looks like a scam to me. Red Flags in the site include

“The true path to financial abundance”

“How to write your own paycheck and work when you want and as much or as little as you want”

    “Amazing report…”

Please don’t advertise on my site.
