I work from home. By definition I am not actually a “telecommuter” as I am not connected to a corporation’s intranet or communications system. But I have to purchase my own software and pay for my own internet and phone service. I am self-employed. I make this point in my first post that what I do is just like telecommuting. I have to deal with lots of people for whom I do my work. I have phone meetings, on-site meetings, and lots and lots of email communications.
Purchasing office software and equipment can be expensive so I’ve compiled a list of low-cost resources that I have used on a regular basis. I have had success with these programs, however I’d love to get more recommendations from readers.
